About Winner Group

Winner Group has been going since 2009 when 2 women from Agome Yoh received training as paralegals to support women and women’s rights. They set up a local women’s organisation, which then became Winner Group in 2012. It is an organisation dedicated to fighting gender inequality and in involving women in decision-making at all levels of Togolese society for the wellbeing of all. They recognize the need to reduce poverty, and are striving to allow poor people to meet their basic needs and improve their lives.  Involving women in society’s decision making is one way to do this.

Since it’s foundation the group has been working to further their cause, sometimes in partnership with local NGOs such as RADI. Generally their projects revolve around outreach work in the local area using diverse media such as radio, posters, t-shirts, community meetings and awareness-raising sessions to create discussion about gender related issues and stimulate social change.  They have in house trainers and facilitators as well as a theatre sketch group, which they use to get people thinking and talking about their chosen issues. They have strong links with local community leaders (traditional and civic) as well as local schools and training centres.
